Woman sues HEB over fall in aisle
A Beaumont woman was strolling down a grocery aisle when she slipped and fell.
Faye Thibedeaux filed a lawsuit against HEB Food Stores Inc. on Dec. 1 in Jefferson County District Court, alleging the HEB on 11th Street negligently failed to maintain and inspect its premises.
According to her suit, on Jan. 22 Thibedeaux was shopping when she "slipped and fell while walking down the aisle."
The suit does not state what Thibedeaux slipped in, nor does the suit say how exactly she was injured.
The suit only says HEB was negligent for failing to warn shoppers and for failing to remedy the "hazardous condition."
The plaintiff is suing for past and future mental anguish, pain, impairment, lost wages and medical expenses, plus attorney's fees.
She is represented by Provost Umphrey attorney James Payne.
Judge Gary Sanderson, 60th Judicial District, has been assigned to the case.
Case No. B185-418
